10 Educational Websites



  1. http://www.eia.gov/kids/index.cfm Energy Kids- This is an excellent Science website dedicated to energy.  There are several games and activities that students can complete.  It will help them learn about energy, while they are also able to enjoy themselves. 
  1. http://en.childrenslibrary.org/  International Children's Library- This is an excellent reading website.   It's a Multicultural digital library where children can read books in 19 different languages.  
  1. http://www.funbrain.com/ Fun Brain- This website helps kids with Math and Reading.  They are able to play math and reading games helping them learn while they play. 
  1. http://www.starfall.com/ Star Fall- A wonderful website that helps kids learn and practice reading.  There are collections of stories and activities that use phonics to help students learn to read. 
  1. http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/ National Geographic Kids- This is a great websites for students to learn about different animals and science.   They are able to see photos and videos of animals from around the world.  It's a great motivator for children to learn about animals. 
  1. http://www.brainpopjr.com/ Brain Pop Jr- This website is great for all subjects.  You are able to watch a video on a certain topic with a cartoon demonstrating it.  It's fun and educational.  This website is good for kids K-3. 
  1. http://urbanext.illinois.edu/kids/index.html Just for Kids- This is a science and social studies goal orientated website.  There are several activities aimed for kids K-8 classrooms. 
  1. http://lightupyourbrain.com/ Light up your Brain- This website helps students hone in on their problem solving, reading, and math skills.  They are able to test their practice on certain experiments. 
  1. http://www.multiplication.com/games/all-games Multiplication- Helps students learn, practice and explore their multiplication tables.  They are able to download worksheets and play games to help them. 
  1. http://www.scholastic.com/kids/stacks/games/ The Stacks- Is a great website that offers puzzles, games, and quizzes.  The best thing about this website is the writing games.  The writing games encourage students to practice their creative writing skills.

  1. Lindsey, I just visited the first website you had mentioned. I think it's important for kids to understand energy. It looks fun and educational! I also like how there is a section just for teachers.

  2. Lindsey, I really like your blog title and description! It is very appealing. The sites you have listed are such great sites for students and teachers. I remember using several of those sites when I was in grade school and it is nice to see students using them nowadays as well.

  3. I just visited the multiplication.com website and it was so fun! There are so many games all about multiplication! I ended up playing a couple of the games myself and had a fun time.
